Day 24 .....Thursday, July 25, 2013
Heading east on Highway 417 it's a 4 Lane Freeway
for the most part it is good but like all the roads
we've encountered in the east it's a bit like a washboard in sections

As we head out of Ontario the landscape is flat and
mostly farmland
the most popular crops seem to be corn and potatoes
for the
most part the traffic is quite light
As we cross into Quebec there seems to be more trees, less farmland
we managed to maneuver through Montreal without any
trouble
just have to remember to stay on highway 40 which also was a good 4
Lane Freeway
Missy is laying down for longer stretches now but still not laying her head down
the traffic got heavier as we neared Quebec City
and we made it to
the KOA campsite at 3 o'clock
check in lady at first told us that we didn't
have a reservation and we were out of luck
she rambled on about everyone in Quebec takes their holidays in July and August
also that Paul McCartney had been in town
last week so all of the campsites were full
she then said she could accommodate
us for one night so we took it
then she said she had a site for us for tomorrow
night as well but we would have to move sites
we declined and thought if we had
to move and most of the cities campsites would be full
then we would skip
seeing Quebec City for now and would come on our way back
we unhooked the trailer and went to the tourist
accommodation center and speak to somebody else
the lovely young lady was able to find us a campsite not far away for
Friday, Saturday and Sunday so we decided to stay and tour Quebec City
she also gave us two tour books for New Brunswick
and Nova Scotia and tips on where to enter New Brunswick from Quebec
the best information she gave us was regarding the Newfoundland ferry
it
appears it wouldn't cost anywhere near $300 as we
were quoted by the couple from Langley but perhaps around $100

we had dinner check emails, surfed the net
then off to bed

Day 25 Friday, July 26, 2013
Up at 6:30 ... it was a little overcast at first but soon it cleared
as we were eating breakfast outside we could see a couple
of big
rigs in the campsite that are being pulled by semi trucks
rigs in the campsite that are being pulled by semi trucks
quite nice campsite called Camping Transit but they are also very busy
we don't have a lot of choices of
sites to take so we took
one that was quite close to a busy highway
figured we would be okay as long as we wore ear plugs

after having to move sites we decided to
make it a relax at the campsite day
we showered in the trailer and I was able to do the ironing {yes I actually did ironing}

we are very
proud of how we are not creating a whole lot of laundry
when we first pulled into
the site we were the only ones in
this section but now are surrounded by some massive rigs
this section but now are surrounded by some massive rigs
guess they never have to pull their trailer up steep hills like we do in BC
we walked over to the
office to check out tours for tomorrow
looks like Celine is performing a concert here tomorrow
that also will
be adding to the crowds at the camp sites
off to tour Quebec City tomorrow
thanks for checking in with us
Glen, Sheila and Missy
