Days 18 & 19........don't think it would be allowed in BC

Day 18......Friday, July 19, 2013

hmmm not sure if that lady was right as we awoke at seven to rain again
a quick breakfast then on the road about 9 AM
destination.... Sault Ste Marie
the time and days are flying by

a few rays of sun peeking through and trillium still blooming in the campsite
seems quite late in the year for that
I have noticed small inukshuks along the highway
watch out for moose signs almost every couple of miles so I've been watching
and watching and so has Missy but we have yet to see one darn moose

at least give us a tiny frog again....no animals at all
as a matter of fact we have not seen any animals in Ontario
we are seeing more police then anywhere so far
seeing some huge solar panels that we think may be used to power the houses
all of the road signs are repeated in French and a lot of construction
we think there is so much snow in the winter that they
only have a couple of months to do the work

The provincial campsites are okay but we decided not as nice as what we have in BC
one good thing is that they all seem to have electrical hookups
we traveled through Lake Superior Provincial Park today and
vegetation and terrain reminded us of Manning Park

One funny thing we keep seeing is a vehicle with a
trailer attached and a boat attached to the trailer

don't think it would be allowed in BC
very pretty drive along the shore of Lake superior
fog or low cloud again and temperatures vary between 13 to 21
so we are wondering what the altitude might be in some spots.

Reached our destination of the Glenview RV park in Sault Ste. Marie at 4 o'clock
thought the name was quite appropriate

the lady who checked us in said that there was a tall ship show going on in
town so we will try to take that into tomorrow
we are finally getting a cell phone signal so we text Cheryl
and also get in touch with Lori and Rich
I also learn how to send the same text message to all of them
at the same time that makes things a lot easier

a little sit out while trying to connect to the net which
doesn't seem to work from our campsite
we'll try again tomorrow off to bed

Day 19.....Saturday, July 20, 2013

woke to a very sunny morning today …yeah!!!!!
high puffy clouds but it will give us a chance to dry out some of the wet stuff
take advantage of the free showers of the campsite and dad cooks a great breakfast
pancakes bacon and special coffee Yum Yum Yum

quite a pretty view along the water in Sault Ste. Marie
not sure which body of water is but we'll ask Doug tomorrow
must be Lake Superior or Huron or could be something else

Dad chatted with another camper who was originally from North Bay
Ontario but now calls Dallas Texas home
him and his wife are full-time RV here's who lives in a huge motor home
with a small car on behind it was very interesting to chat to him

Trying to dry some of our stuff off in the local laundry mat
at the same time trying to get the Internet to connect to dad's computer at home
but it won't work.... might have to call Rich about that one

by the time we finish the laundry it's already 3 o'clock so off to see the tall ships
Missy left in the trailer again

there is a fair going on which is put on by the Rotary club
so we wander through there before heading to the tall ships

along the way the only moose we have seen yet and it is a wooden one

then onto the tall ships to have a look around
there are three and they are all flying the American flag

we went on board one of them and it was very cramped sleeping quarters
there are also many demonstrations of what life would have been like during the
war of 1812 with people dressed in period costumes

Back to the trailer about 6 o'clock
dinner was two lobster tails
that's two tails each

texted back and forth to home and found out that Marie and Austin
were going to the Lion’s game tonight
then we settled in and waited for the game to start which we can only listen to on the iPhone
because of the three hour time difference the game doesn't come on here until 10 o'clock
so I was able to stay out for the first quarter but dad listen to the entire game

toodles
S, G & M

no animal sightings to report except for 4 dead lobsters
