Days 7 & 8 -- Waterton Lakes

Hello peeps
thanks for following along on Sheila & Glen's Excellent Adventure
today we are on day 7 but in real life the travellers are on day 30 if you can believe it
we've got a lot of catching up to do here so lets get a move on it

day 7 we woke up to pelting down rain
we keep hearing how hot and dry it is back home when we texted to
let them know we were alive and well

we travelled south of Calgary on Hwy 22 towards Waterton Lakes
and went  through a small town of Bragg Creek
the devestaion from the recent floods was obvious in the small communtity
the bridge was still out so we were detoured through Okatoks

a good road and a nice drive on Hwy 22
rolling hills, tons of cattle, mountains to the west and even a whole bunch of windmills

after a little regroup of campsites we found a great private site just
outside of the Waterton Lake Park
the weather network says sun tomorrow yeah !!!!!!

the next day {day 8} we wake up to SUN... thank you weather network
got some odd jobs done around the trailer
before getting on our way to tour the Waterton Village

first stop was the bison paddock
we got a good view of quite a few mature bison and some little ones too

this is the picture I would have sent to my ghost writer if I could get it off of my camera
then on to the village where we took a little drive around
checked out the town a little, had a bite to eat outside
so Missy was happy to sit with us
I am so lucky the bear turned right as I was taking this picture {tong firmly planted in cheek}
after a little drive around the town we headed back to the campsite
where we spotted a bear on the drive back
or in our case it's the other way around
and we also saw 2 deer when we were in the village
one of which Missy wanted to take on

had our first campfire of the trip here
had a lovely evening sitting out by the fire

on the road tomorrow
where we just might see some buffalo with smashed in heads

if you are reading a long with us we would love to
hear from you so leave us a comment to two
