Day 9 -- well.....you must be Glen

Day 9 started with a beautiful sunny day

Decided to do a bit of cleanup around camp, on the roadaround 10:30
23 degrees already and on our way to Pincher Creek
gas and another Walmart stop...gas was $1.19 a liter

off to head smashed in Buffalo jump
had a good look around at the interpretive centre
a walk out to the cliff where the buffalo were forced to jump to their demise
no roadkill sighted here thankfully

we left there around 2:30 and headed for Meyronne which is dad's hometown
temperature is now 30
At the Gull Lake Saskatchewan we turned south to meet up with Highway 13
first 60 km were not very good, it was very bumpy and rough
most of the way we wondered if we'd made a mistake by choosing this route
but at Cadillac the road got better all the way to Meyronne

Missy finally laid down in the truck on this section
We arrived in Meyronne around 8 pm and we're just driving around the town we spotted a fellow picking up his mail at the post office. Glen pulled over towards him and said "I guess you are wondering what we are doing looking around" to which the fellow replied "yeah we don't get many visitors around here". Then dad said "I was born here 73 years ago right over there"
He told the fellow that Fred Rosenfeldt was his uncle then the fellow said
"then you must be a Scanks. Let me figure out which one of you you are "
"well...you must be Glen"
We were amazed he was able to tell dad which one he was
He introduced himself to us is Glen Wright who had
been a good friend of dad's brother Bill
Glen asked him where in town we could park for the night
with no hesitation he said in my yard
we followed him to his house which was a little ways
away out of the town on Highway 13

He asked if dad would like him to call his cousin Wayne to come over for a visit
 "of course we said...yes"
Wayne came with his wife, June and we sat outside of the trailer chatting until midnight
this day was unexpected, unplanned surprise all around
